Partnerships

We are so lucky to have a great partnership with our local GAA club, Dicksboro. This partnership has given us the great opportunity to have Stephen, the schools coach with Dicksboro, come to our school one day a week to teach the children hurling and Gaelic football skills. He also helps to run ‘ Hurling 365’ which is an initiative run in partnership with Dicksboro and with the help of parents and staff. Every Friday morning, when the weather is favourable, any child who wants to take part can enjoy hurling skills for half an hour. This excellent opportunity would not be possible without the support of Dicksboro, our parents and staff.

The children get a great chance each year to perfect their throwing, catching and team work skills thanks to coach Noel Devlin from Leinster Rugby.
The children really enjoyed the Dare to Believe Olympic Movement breaks in class. It was a welcome break from sitting down and a great chance to learn more about our Irish olympians.
We have a great partnership with our neighbouring secondary school – The Loreto – who run a fantastic Transition Year leadership program that involves taking some of our classes to do different activities in their hall or astro turf if the weather allows.
Third Class girls were lucky to have two coaches from Kilkenny United who came to do some soccer skills with them.
Some of our 4th class pupils took part in a BADMINTON workshop run by Badminton Ireland.
