MPORTANT MEETING FOR ALL ST CANICE’S SCHOOL PARENTS – MONDAY OCT 5TH @8.30PM.
Dear parents,
The St. Canice’s School Parents’ Association is run by a group of parents who give of their time on a voluntary basis to work with the school management, in order to influence school policies and procedures and continue to improve the facilities within the school for all of our children.
In recent years the Parents’ Association has funded and organised many new initiatives, including:
· The new school playground in the junior yard
· Data whiteboards for our classrooms
· Mobile laptop charging stations
· Clean-up & Painting of the Sports Hall
· Improvements to Traffic Management
The Association has facilitated and organised many events including:
· Bi-Annual School Fete Community Day
· Annual Book Fair
· School Uniform Sales
· 6th Class Graduation Mass & Keepsake Books
· Junior Infant Induction Days
· Commemorative School Calendars
· Tennis Tournaments
· Family Table Quiz
· Class Movie Nights
As children leave primary school and move on to secondary school, some parents must naturally leave the Association. Unfortunately, this year the numbers of parents moving on has been particularly high. Without a sufficient number of parents volunteering their assistance, these activities can no longer continue in the school. As a result it is vital that parents join the Parents’ Association every year. The only commitment is to attend a monthly meeting and assist with new initiatives where possible.
The Parents’ Association has lots of exciting plans for this school year and we need you to help us make them happen.
If you leave it to someone else to volunteer to help, no-one will and our children will lose out, as parents will no longer play a role in school life through a Parents’ Association.
Where possible every family should be represented at the Parents’ Association AGM at the school on Monday, 5th October at 8.30-9.15pm. Election of officers will take place at this meeting.
This is our school, for our children, and it is our collective responsibility, along with the school management, to give our children the best experience possible during their school days. So come and hear what’s coming up, have your say and make a difference...
