Charity Collection
Our April charity collection tomorrow is for Enable Ireland. Many of our pupils use the excellent services there and also many siblings so we would like to donate a good sum to the cause.
A big “Thank You” from Maria McGarry to all those who supported her Bumbleance Coffee Morning. Through your generosity €1200 was raised
Gairdín na Scoile
5th class have been busy in the gairdín. They have planted cabbage, carrots, broccoli and potatoes. The onions are beginning to sprout. The rate of growth of the newly planted willow is amazing. More and more green leaves are appearing each day.
Sport
· The 5 teams entered in leagues are continuing their campaigns.
· Congratulations to the camogie seven a side panel who won out their first round and now qualify for the county final.
· The hurling sevens take place next week.
· Our In School Junior and Senior swimming galas have been scheduled for Wed. May 27th. 1.15-3.15pm. Mr Hanrick will organise entries etc after the May break.
Spelling Bee
Well done to our School Spelling Bee Champion Eoghan O’Neill who represented the school at the County Final in Callan last week. He did extremely well and lasted until three rounds from the end, coming in at joint 5th.
Parents’ Association
Reminder: The School Fete is on Sun 31st May 2pm - 6pm. The Parents Committee are looking for volunteers to help out on the day. If you are interested, in helping please Text Jo on 087 6248470 .There will be a Drop Off Week from Mon 25th May to Fri 29th, where items for the Fete, can be dropped into the school.during this week , as items cannot be accepted on the day. Any unwanted books,games,gifts, jewellery, hats, bags,etc, will be most welcome. Any unwanted bikes in good condition , will also be welcome.Further information to follow.
