School Summer Fete 2017 - 2pm-5pm on Sunday, 28th May
Diary Date – Not To Be Missed!
The Parents’ Association is delighted to announce that the School Fete will take place in the St. Canice’s Community Hall and St. James’ Park, beside the school, on Sunday, 28th May, from 2pm-5pm. It’s a great family and community day out, so spread the word and bring along your friends. All are welcome!
School Fundraiser
This year all funds raised at the Fete will go towards New Interactive Whiteboards and Projectors for the school. It’s hard to believe that our first School Fete was held 10 years ago, and the monies raised bought the school’s very first Interactive Whiteboards and Projectors! What a long way the school has come in terms of technology…now every class has this fantastic technology which makes learning both interactive and fun for all. 10 years on, our equipment is starting to need replacing so we thought it fitting that all monies raised would help to replace equipment as it is needed, so that none of our kids will lose out.
Event Highlights
Lots of fun activities are planned including; bouncy castles, fun races, obstacle courses, face painting and novelty games. Firm favourites also include the wheel of fortune, raffle, book & DVD stall, and of course not forgetting plenty of tasty treats from the cake stall, barbeque and delicious crepe stall, and lots more! We will have a Fantastic Raffle again this year. Prizes are starting to arrive and already we can announce some top prizes including:
*Eat Out In Kilkenny For A Week *€350 Tooth Whitening Procedure & Dental Exam
*Tickets to the Kilkenny Cat Laughs Comedy Festival *Family Passes To Many Local Attractions
How Can I Help?
1. Give An Hour of Your Time:
To make the day possible we need your help and we are asking one member of each family to help out on a stall or help run some activities for one hour on the day, or help with the set-up the evening before, so that all parents get a chance to enjoy all the fun with their children. Please complete and return the detachable slip below to the school office or to your child’s teacher as soon as possible, so that we know how many stalls and activities we can run.
2. Make Donations: All donations can be brought to the school office the week before the event.
- Cakes, bakes and cookies (Can be delivered on the day)
- Prizes for the Raffle and wheel of Fortune: Box of biscuits, bottle of wine, box of sweets, gift vouchers, unwanted gifts.
- Saleable second-hand books, CD’s, DVD’s, Computer Games and Board Games. NO TOYS or BRICK-A-BRACK please.
3. Show the Amazing Food and Traditions From Your Culture:
Following our Cultural Day last year, perhaps you would like to make some of the fantastic foods from your home country for the food stalls or wear your traditional dress to add to the occasion and celebrate the school’s diversity of culture?
4. Purchase Some Raffle Tickets:
If you can’t attend on the day or help out in advance, why not buy some raffle tickets at the school, you might win a fab prize! Tickets will be on sale at collection times in the school foyer the week before the Fete.
Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to a great day for all. The Parents’ Association.
