A contraction is a word or phrase that has been shortened by dropping one or more letters.
In writing, an apostrophe is used to indicate the place of the missing letters.
Contractions are commonly used in speech and written dialogue.
A conjunction is the glue that holds words, phrases and clauses together.
Example : I like cooking and eating, but I don’t like washing dishes afterward. Sophie is clearly exhausted, yet she insists on dancing till dawn.
Conjunctions allow you to form complex, elegant sentences and avoid the choppiness of multiple short sentences.
