v Mooncoin 22/4/2015
Mooncoin 3-6. Canices. 2-7
Played 4. Won 2. Lost 2. That's our record after suffering defeat today at the hands of southern kingpins Mooncoin. This was a brilliant match between two sporting and committed sides, neither willing to concede anything to the opposition.
We played with the aid of the breeze in the first half, and a fortuitous long range goal from David Walsh separated the sides at half time. (2-4 to 1-4). The other major score came from the poacher supreme Eoin O Neill.
The high standard continued for the second half: Mooncoin had strength in all sectors of the field. We only scored 1 point from play in the second half, a Timmy Clifford point, and two points from frees( Brian and Eoin Dalton)
We conceded 2-3, but our defenders did quite well.
A draw would have been a fair result, but
IF we can learn from our last two defeats,
IF we improve in our preparations for St. Patrick's next week, then, when the month of May comes around, WE WILL be ready for the knockout stages of the Roinn A.
