For a record second year in a row Haneefah Abu bested all opposition to become our School Spelling Bee Champion. Haneefah then represented us at the County Final in Callan last week. She played a blinder to stay in contention until the second last round. Well done Haneefah.
Parents’ AssociationDIARY DATE: School Summer Fete 2017 - Sunday, 28th May!
The Parents’ Association is delighted to announce that the School Fete will take place in the St. Canice’s Community Hall and St. James’ Park, beside the school, on Sunday, 28th May, from 2pm-5pm. Please put this date in your diary NOW, as your children won’t want to miss this great school and community day out for all the family, so spread the word and bring along your friends too. After Easter we will be contacting you to ask for your assistance with donations of books, DVDs, Cakes, Prizes, and most importantly, for some of your time on the day. If you have any ideas for the fete or if you are interested in organising a stall, please call James Dunne at (087)-6536878. It is a major fundraiser for our school, but most of all it is a great school occasion not to be missed. Further details to follow after the Easter holidays.
Happy Easter to everyone and we look forward to seeing you bright and early on Monday April 24th.

- 110 medals were won recently at our School Junior and Senior Swimming Galas. Well done to all the competitors. Thank you to Mr Hanrick for co-ordinating the event, to the parents who help out on the day and this year in particular to our 6th class pupils who were Team Managers for the younger age groups. They kept their teams in great order and ready to compete.
- Congratulations to the Boys’ and Girls’ seven a side panel who won the first round of the hurling/camogie and now proceed to the county final after Easter.
- We were delighted and honoured to be visited this morning by Senior County and Dicksboro Camogie player and past pupil Jenny Clifford. Jenny brought along her All Star Camogie trophy from last year and spoke to the pupils about the commitment needed to play at county level. We wish Jenny, the Boro and Kilkenny all the best for this season.
