v St Patrick's De La Salle
A wet wet finish
Round 2 of our A/B league saw us in action at home against St. Pats. The forecast was poor but it was not until the last ten minutes that we felt the full force of the driving rain in a cold, gale force wind. It was a welcome sound when Brian Cody blew the final whistle!
In such conditions, good hurling was not expected. However, our performance was of a high quality and it was only a couple of defensive lapses that allowed Pats to score two late first half goals. These were the decisive scores as seen in the final scoreline :
St. Pats 2-3 St. Canices 0-5.
There were many fine performances today. The outstanding hurlers were Thomas Phelan, Mason Clifford, Sam Johnson and Eoin Cantwell.
