v St John's
Roinn A quarter final.
St. Canices 4-13
Urlingford 2-3
Venue: Freshford
Date: June 9th 2005
Just 24 hours after our departure from the Roinn C quarter final, we were determined not to repeat that experience and we were well prepared for this match. Although we enjoyed much possession early on we were not able to reflect this on the scoreboard. But when Cillian Buckley swapped position with Mason Clifford and moved to 'the edge of the square', our fortunes began to swing. He scored a couple of fine goals and our team gained confidence and began to hurl closer to their potential.
S Johnson
S Treacy P Turley T Phelan
N O Shea E Guilfoyle H Walsh
A Nolan D Buggy
P Vickery C Buckley G Walsh
J Keohane E Cantwell M Clifford
M Casey L O Hara A McDonald R Glynn S Clohosey D Hogan
We had fine performances today from S Johnson in goal, T Phelan, N O Shea and E Guilfoyle in defence, both A Nolan and D Buggy in midfield, and our six forwards all had bright moments.
We now look forward to a semi-final outing , probably against Clara. We know well that only a complete performance from each and every member of the panel will be good enough to get us through to our second successive final. We also know well that we are good enough!!!
