v Mooncoin
ST.Canice’s ended Mooncoin's three match winning start to the Roinn B league when they defeated them on a scoreline of 1-5 to 0-3 in St. James park last Friday.
This was a tough skillful contest and considering that the Canices goal came from a fortuitous long range free from the stick of C.Buckley in the first half there was very little between the two sides.
The half time score was 1-3 to St. Canice’s- two points from Cian Tynan and a free from Cillian Buckley- and 0-1 to Mooncoin- a free from Eamon Henebry
The second half scores were shared- two Canice’s points from Eric Cantwell and Robbie McPartlan and Mooncoin’s pair from Stephen Crowley.
Both teams had their star performers. Thomas Walsh stood out for Mooncoin and wsa well supported by Niall O Hanlon in goal, Eamon Hennebry, Stephen Crowley, Seamus Kearns and Hugh McGovern.
St. Canice’s best hurlers on the day were Colm Manning in goal, Brian Donegan, Cathal Kavanagh, Cian Tynan and Robbie McPartlan.
